April 23, 2025 — Prof. Dr. M. Aslam Baig, Secretary General of the Pakistan Academy of Sciences, paid a visit to the Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB), University of the Punjab. He was warmly received by Prof. Dr. Moazur Rahman, Director of CEMB, who welcomed the distinguished guest and provided a comprehensive overview of the Centre’s ongoing research initiatives.

During the meeting, heads of various research projects at CEMB presented their work, placing special emphasis on the projects currently supported by the Pakistan Academy of Sciences. These presentations highlighted key milestones, collaborative efforts, and the tangible impact of the Academy’s funding in advancing scientific research in Pakistan.

Prof. Dr. Baig toured multiple research laboratories, where he was briefed on cutting-edge developments in Agri Biotechnology, genetic diagnostics, and Stem cell therapeutics. He expressed appreciation for the dynamic research environment at CEMB and commended the enthusiasm and rapid progress of the research teams under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Moazur Rahman.

The visit concluded with a reaffirmation of continued support and collaboration between CEMB and the Pakistan Academy of Sciences to further the goals of scientific excellence in Pakistan.
